Lido Beach Activities

Lido Key Beach is located near Siesta Key, with a calm, relaxing beachfront known as the “Emerald Coast”. Lido Beach sand is a little harder than Siesta Key which makes it much easier for walking…so take a romantic stroll. The beach is also not as crowded or wide as Siesta Key which makes it easier for wedding guests to find your ceremony location. The seclusion of this Gulf beach is what makes it one of the best places for a beach wedding or to elope in Florida.

Keep your guests in mind when planning your Siesta Key Beach Wedding. Give your guests the details we provide you with for the ceremony location. For example, the main beach in Siesta Key is very large. We give you an aerial view of the wedding zones, along with landmarks. Passing this information on to your guests is important so they can arrive on time and at the right place!

Share the Timeline of your Wedding

  • If your wedding starts at 6:00 p.m., guests are instructed to arrive between 5:30 and 5:45, so they will be seated and waiting for your arrival at the ceremony site.
  • Siesta Key, Lido Beach and the surrounding beaches in Sarasota are always popular, so parking can sometimes be hard to come by. We would suggest getting there a bit earlier than even requested, so there is time to find adequate parking. As most weddings happen near sunset, the day visitors will have left the beachfront area, so this always helps a little in clearing the parking lots.
  • If you are staying in Siesta Key: there are several golf cart companies that offer free rides throughout the island. This is a great way for your guests to arrive and not have to worry about driving, or parking.

Share your Recommendations

Give your guests some of the recommendations from our furnished list, so that they have options for hotels, condos, etc. You can also contact the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce (which we are a proud member), and they can provide you with some local guide maps that will include even more local restaurants, marinas, etc. for you and your guests to enjoy after your wedding day. Having a wedding party? They might want to get their hair and makeup done for the wedding day: we recommend A Victorian Bride hair and makeup by Linda and her team. You won’t be disappointed!

Need to Know: Beach Wedding Bridesmaids

Having your friends stand by you on your wedding day is more than just a tradition. It’s a friend’s way of saying, “I love you, I support you in your marriage, and I’ve got your back.” And choosing your beach wedding bridesmaids is just as important as choosing where you will get married…in this case, it’s a beach in Florida! Which one? Why not choose one of the Gulf beach venues such as Clearwater Beach, St. Pete Beach, Siesta Key for you and the gals to stand together by the emerald water on your special day. Will You Be My Bridesmaid written in beach sand And once you’ve established your bridal party, the next step is to choose the right beach wedding bridesmaid style. You will probably want to include some color and design themes from your all-inclusive beach wedding package. The Destiny is the package that has the most color options for customization. With up to 24 chairs, it is a great choice for a larger wedding. Another popular package our brides love is the Rustic Romance (shown below) which can accommodate up to 100 guests! Whichever complete wedding package you decide upon, you and your bridal party will want to arrive in style.

Bride Guide: Beach Wedding Bridesmaid Style

Bridesmaid Dress Color:

Beach wedding pastel colors

This is probably the biggest statement when it comes to the overall aesthetic look of your wedding. Are you into bright and bold or are you looking to go natural and blend in with the beach scene? Remember to think about the BIG picture. Envision you and your bridal party in front of your beach wedding package set up and decide what look you want to achieve. And remember, you can totally go for matching dress and decor (bold or neutral), complimentary but not quite “matching” colors, or a neutral for set up and bold dresses (or vice versa).

Bridesmaid Dress Style:

Do your ladies have a variety of body types? It’s likely that there is a variety of shapes and sizes standing up in your wedding. Before you are able to make the final call, get advice from your bridesmaids so they feel comfortable in what they’re wearing. There’s lots of resources for body types and flattering styles just like this one. And remember you can choose one style for all or do a little mixing and matching within the same color family.

Budget Friendly:

You probably have a good idea of where your friends stand financially (ballpark figure anyways). So consider this when choosing dresses. If you’re friend is scraping the bank just to travel and attend your wedding, don’t send her into debt over a dress. There are lots of affordable bridesmaid dresses. Some tips for saving money include:

  • Shopping last year’s dress styles
  • Looking in nontraditional dress stores (think Macy’s, Dillard’s formal clearance section)
  • Shop local: Support local business and do yourself a favor by checking out your local bridal shop’s sale rack. Often they need to clear previous season’s dresses to make room for the next batch.
  • Resale- Check sites like Ebay or a local Facebook resale site. This is especially convenient if you are mixing and matching styles or colors.

Fort Myers: Beach Wedding Inspiration

It’s time again to look at wedding colors and decor trends to inspire your wedding dreams for the new year. In Fort Myers, Florida the forecast is: warm, sunny, with a touch of spring pastel! Check out some of our staff favorites for affordable beach wedding set ups that are perfect for a Gulf beach wedding. Whether it’s a Spring beach elopement or you’re ready to get ideas for a destination wedding later this year, these inspirations will have your beach wedding heart in full bloom!

Plan Your Fort Myers Beach Wedding

Our favorite thing about a beach wedding in Fort Myers is the warm sea breeze, sugar sand and sunny skies. The natural, outdoor environment and white sand coordinates with any wedding color scheme! Our beach wedding packages allow you to choose your dream color design or touches like Starfish. So here you go, get inspired…

Colors and Trends

NEUTRALS: White, blush, and ivory are such classic colors that really they can go with any season. This allows you to really be creative with your focal points of design such as flowers, textured greenery or accessories like lanterns or buckets. For example, the Nautical Knot Beach Chic design pictured below has such a clean, subtle design it blends seamlessly with the sand and water. This allows you to include pops of color through your floral bridal bouquet or bridesmaid dresses and groom attire. All-white flowers look natural and organic and give your wedding an elegant look.

PASTELS: It’s hard to say the word Spring and not think of baby pinks and blues, soft greens and cream. In the beach wedding world, we love soft colors that compliment the natural beauty of the sand, sea and Florida sky. In Fort Myers, the Gulf water is a beautiful turquoise so just about anything goes. For 2021, we are seeing groom attire trend towards bolder colors while the bride and her bridesmaids stay with pastel tones.

FLORALS IN FOCUS: For brides flowers never go out of style, and that goes for beach weddings too! We love the simple, organic beauty of our Natural Distinctive Design Wedding Package which features bamboo and champagne tones: timeless and elegant in its rustic wedding simplicity.

Incredible Weather

Another great thing about a Fort Myers Beach Wedding is the lovely weather. There are usually a few lingering “cold days” before Spring and we use the Florida definition of cold. Florida Cold: Any temperature below 70 degrees Fahrenheit! Spring Florida temperatures can range anywhere from upper 50s to low 80s, which by most standards is pretty pleasant weather and the oceanfront is usually milder.

Affordable Wedding Package Prices

No matter what location you choose, our complete wedding packages allow couples to have the wedding of their dreams without breaking the bank. Break Away To A Butler Beach Wedding

The Beach Location

Kaylee and Brandon said, “I do” in July at Butler Beach, just south of St. Augustine Beach, Florida. Butler Beach on Anastasia Island is only eight miles from St. Augustine’s historic district. Wide stretches of white sand beach makes it the perfect location for a beach wedding ceremony. Butler Beach offers free parking, restrooms, showers, barbecue grills, and picnic pavilions.

Butler Beach Bride with Father on sand

The Bride

The bride’s beautiful lace wedding dress included a train that trailed beautifully behind her in the sand. Her father walked beside her to give her away at the beach ceremony. Kaylee and Brandon chose to write their own personalized vows which were witnessed by 50 guests. Music on their custom playlist included, “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. Our wedding ceremony coordinator, Pam, officiated as they tied the knot under this black bamboo wedding arch.

The Ceremony

The couple had one groomsman and one bridesmaid, who looked splendid in her purple gown. They had a Unity Sand Ceremony to symbolize their new life together after marriage. This was was included in their Destiny package. The bride chose coral (tropical delight) and blue as well as beautiful tiki torches to highlight the black bamboo of this wedding package design (natural bamboo is available too). Purple chair bands adorned the white guest chairs. The tiki poles were connected with strands of small white seashells with small purple flowers on the strands. So pretty!

They got to keep the vase to remember their special day with their family. After the ceremony, our beach photographer got to work capturing all the special moments of their wedding day. Choosing this option, for a small fee, can make a big difference in the quality of photos you have to remember and share forever. Don’t leave these important moments up to somebody’s iPhone!

The Wedding Photography

Kaylee and Brandon will remember their special day forever and we hope they will return to Butler Beach. At the end of the beach wedding the family and friends walked down to Atlantic ocean to take more pictures. Our professional wedding photographer takes as many interesting poses as possible. As you can see below, the landscape provided many fabulous opportunities for memorable pictures.

Tie the Knot on Pass-A-Grille Beach, St. Pete

The Beach Venue

Pass-A-Grille is located at the southernmost end of St. Pete Beach. Historic Pass-A-Grille is a laid back beach town where you can easily walk to the beach, visit boutiques, have an ice cream or drink, dine out at restaurants, or walk on fishing piers. Laneasha and Anthony were married in June under the canopy of their beautiful Tropical Distinctive Design complete wedding package. The bride walked toward her beloved Anthony and was given to him in marriage as the Gulf beach water sparkled in the background.

The Wedding Party

They had 50 guests and a bridal party that included a groomsman, ring bearers, a flower girl, a junior bridesmaid and one Woman of Honor. The bridesmaids walked individually down the Tiki torch lined aisle. Starfish and green ferns guided them through the white guest chairs accented in a tropical orange color.

The Wedding Vows

Laneasha and Anthony had their own minister officiate the beach ceremony. They also included an optional seashell blessing and Sand Ceremony. The sand colors were white and bride orange, and they brought their own unity glass to use and cherish forever.

Ceremony Music

The music playlist for this couple’s beach ceremony was used for the bridal party to walk down the aisle, the bride to walk down the aisle, and a song for after the kiss! They chose:

  • Bridal Party: The Blessing by Kari Jobi, Cody Carnes
  • Bride Walk: This is Why I Love You by MAJOR
  • After Kiss: Cruisin’ by Smokey Robinson

The Beach Wedding Package

Consultations by phone and email with our Beach Wedding Specialist were included and we made sure the bride had a final beach wedding ceremony agenda and Pass-A-Grille location instructions to share with her wedding guests. A large wooden “chalkboard” sign announced the new couple as well. The guests also enjoyed chilled water so they could stay cool during the vow ceremony. This couple used tropical orange as an accent color for their  chairbands, but a bride can customize this to her own style.

Wedding Photography

Choosing a wedding photographer was easy for this couple who used our professional photographer to capture their memories of this special day in St. Pete. Many shots of their wedding ceremony were taken, as well as fun and romantic pictures down by the Gulf water and with family and friends.
