Beach Wedding Welcome: A Party You Can Be Proud Of

So you’re about to get married on the beach: a dream come true with your friends and family. They’ve likely traveled a bit to get to your destination wedding so why not put them at ease with a Beach Wedding Welcome Party before the special day? It’s a great way for everyone to relax, mix and mingle before you tie the knot. We know you haven’t had much stress while planning your beach ceremony (planning is so easy), but still excitement and anticipation are high. Here are some tips to help everyone unwind before the big event.

Tips for an Amazing Beach Wedding Welcome Party

Most likely you will be using a restaurant near your chosen beach location or a hotel party room. No matter where you host your welcome wedding party, you can make it memorable. Bеасh wеddіngѕ аrе usually mоrе саѕuаl аnd lеѕѕ fоrmаl thаn оthеr tуреѕ оf traditional wеddіngs, although still stunning like this Floral Distinctive Design wedding on St. Augustine beach below. Ѕо you can take the pressure off by having everyone dress for relaxation.

Grazing Tables

Everyone loves a charcuterie board, like the one below from Tastes Better From Scratch. A grazing table is ususally a large table with beautifully displayed meats, cheeses, nuts, jams, crackers, etc. for your guests to ‘graze’ while enjoying the cocktail hour. No, you don’t have to do it yourself: it can be ordered!

Serve Lighter Food

Choose foods that are flavorful, and prepared in a variety of creative ways. Ocean foods such as fish tacos are always delightful, or a dip. Think of wraps or sliders. A good idea might be mini burgers as appetizers and fresh salads. Why not something like the Blackened Shrimp Avocado Cucumber Bites shown below. Be sure to offer your guests fresh non-alcoholic as well as alcoholic cocktails. As the bride, you may wish to sip sparkling water to keep you skin fresh and ready for your special day!

Fruit and Beach Themed Dishes

Smaller beach weddings also offer the opportunity for some fun food ideas with a tropical theme. Even pizza is go, no formal tables necessary for an intimate wedding. You can have a watermelon fruit bowl shaped like a shark with melon balls inside, or other food or dips in seaside themed dishes if that’s something you love. Why not some pineapples that look like palm trees like this one from Pinterest? Unforgettable at a destination wedding!

Palm tree pineapples and fruit for wedding guests

Personalize your Party

Your wеddіng welcome party can be matched to your wedding package thеmе which will delight fаmіlіеѕ аnd frіеndѕ. Are you having a blue wedding like the Shades of the Ocean Destiny Package pictured below, a neutral wedding or perhaps tropical wedding? Small, lovely favors that guests can take away as memorable gifts are appropriate at a beach theme party like this…shell and pebble candles are a good example. You can also have guests sign a large card or keepsake book with their best wedding wishes for you and your beloved.

Beachy Cocktails

Another fun thing you can do if you are having your welcome party at a hotel is оffеr ѕіgnаturе drіnkѕ based on your seaside wedding theme or chosen beach location. For instance, Siesta Key has a signature spiced rum that has won awards, distilled in Sarasota. How about a tropical cocktail that has the color of the sea: a Blue Margarita, with blue curaçao. It reminds us of the Gulf water in St. Pete! For non-alcoholic options, how about the Fuzzless Navel? This is a thirst-quenching tropical drink that all ages can enjoy with a combination of peach nectar and orange juice poured over ice and garnished with slices of citrus fruit. Add this to your Daytona Beach wedding welcome party and have some fun!

Different Beach Types

Do you want a big built up city beach with lots to do? Or a more natural beach, with less people? Every beach has a different personality! The west coast of Florida has the calmest water and beautiful white sand situated on the Gulf of Mexico. The beautiful, calm, blue waters that are excellent for swimming and floating. Little children can swim without big waves. Clearwater Beach is a popular spot for water sports, snorkeling, parasailing and jet skiing, and the beach is close to Tampa international airport. Choose from Clearwater Beach, Sand Key Park, Madeira Beach, Indian Rocks, Redington Beach, Treasure Island. Regularly rated as one of the best beaches in the United States, it is a paradise for those who love the sun, sand and sea.

Our Clearwater Beach Weddings include the packages you will need, officiant, ceremony, canopy, and chairs.

However, if you want to boogie board and enjoy jumping surf, you might prefer beaches of the Daytona Beach area with 26 miles of unique beachfront to choose from including Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach Shores, Wilbur-By-The-Sea, Ponce Inlet and New Smyrna Beach. Fly into Orlando or Daytona Beach international airport. You will enjoy soft sand near the sea wall, firm sand near the water for biking, running, sports and plenty of room for chairs, towels and umbrellas away from the narrow lane the vehicles are allowed in. The sand gently slopes into the Atlantic, often has active waves, and lots to do off the beach once you are done sunning and swimming. The tide-pools are great for little kids to play in during low tide and so warm! You can choose a drive-on beachfront or non-traffic beach.

Things to Do

Clearwater:

You can see Dolphins on both sides of Florida and there are specific tours you can book – well worth it. In the Clearwater area, there is the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, a famous aquarium in Clearwater has a strong dedication to rehabilitation of sea turtles and other aquatic life. Pier 60 is great for fishing. The Congo River Mini Golf course is great fun for everyone (there’s one located in Daytona Beach too). For nightlife, there are many beach bars where you can sip your cocktails with the view of the sea, or party all night long to live music.

Daytona Beach Area:

For kids: there is a place you can take your children to where there is water slides and race track and all kind of things to do at this place. It is called the Daytona Lagoon. It offers water slides, a wave pool swim, a multi-level family splash and play center, and lazy river. Something for everyone! The adults can enjoy side splitting laughter at Bonkerz Comedy Club inside the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, or just chill at one of the many oceanfront bars with live entertainment. If you are into waves or boogie boarding, Daytona area beaches are the place to go: Ponce Inlet is a local favorite.

Hotels

Daytona Beach:

The beach is long, with regular lifeguard stations, and a popular boardwalk in Daytona Beach and yes, in many areas, you can drive right onto it. There is a lively ambience here, particularly on weekends, with live music overlooking the sand. There’s a nice collection of hotels in Dayton Beach with rooms that are often cheaper than the Gulf coast. The Daytona Beach Shores Resort and Spa is one of the largest hotels on the beachfront in Daytona. With an amazing pool deck boasting an outdoor heated pool, a kiddie pool, restaurant inside for easy dining options, you would be able to have a wedding reception there as well. Beach wedding prices, in general, are lower in Daytona Beach.

Clearwater Beach:

Holiday Inn Harbourside is a wonderful location for couples that want to enjoy an all-inclusive Clearwater Beach Wedding venue. Located near Indian Rocks Beach it offers families fun at Splash Harbour Water Park located adjacent to the hotel. With a pool, jacuzzi, and the full-service restaurant, Jimmy Guana’s, which offers fresh seafood and steaks, how can you go wrong?

Different sun sets

Clearwater is, of course, famous for it’s sunsets. Situated on the Gulf of Mexico on the west coast, you get a spectacular sunset almost every night! If a vibrant sunset wedding is on your list, then a Clearwater Beach wedding is for you. You can choose tropical colors for your all inclusive Florida beach wedding package to match the oranges and pinks of the setting sun over the water.

Bride and groom on Clearwater Beach as the sun sets over the water

On the east coast of Florida, there are beautiful reflections of the setting sun as it goes down, giving our couples a beautiful pinky, peach glow called the Golden Hour. A soft and beautiful backdrop for a Daytona Beach wedding, if you so desire.

The main idea is for you and your beloved to do your research and find the Florida beach that tugs at your heartstrings. It is pretty hard to find a beach that is NOT romantic! And your ceremony can include just the two of you, or a number of your friends and family. Whether you choose an affordable Daytona Beach wedding or Gulf beach wedding in Clearwater, you can trust our beach wedding company to be there with you every step of the way and help you have the beach wedding of your dreams. Contact us today to find your favorite beach and perfect date.

Pretty in Ponce Inlet Beach

Tucked away from busy, everyday life there is a hidden gem of a town, Ponce Inlet. Situated just a few miles south of Daytona Beach, Ponce Inlet is a much quieter, more preserved version of it’s bustling neighbor: the “world famous” beach. That being said there are still days worth of exploring and fun within this quaint beachfront town. With emerald water so clear you can see through the warm rolling waves and white sand, you might think you are closer to the Bahamas than Florida! Ponce Inlet provides opportunities to see manatees, dolphins frolicking close by and manta rays swimming by your side. As the fluffy white clouds billow offshore, you and your beloved just might decide to stay forever after your wedding on the beach…and who could blame you? But if you can break away from the sun and sea, then grab your sneakers, appetite for fun and let’s explore Ponce Inlet Beach!

Top 5 Things to do in Ponce Inlet

One of the coolest things about this list is you could do them all without any transportation besides your own two feet! Now if you’re planning a summer Ponce Inlet wedding, you will likely still want to drive and soak up some A/C in between stops. Let’s explore Ponce Inlet and why it is pretty perfect!

1. Ponce Inlet Jetty

There aren’t many places quite like Ponce Inlet Jetty. You can actually walk along a paved sidewalk atop the jetty for about 100 yards. The views are like no other with a variety of boats passing by. It’s like you’re walking on water. The jetty itself is free. Parking at the Lighthouse Park runs $10. Public bathrooms, picnic tables, a wooden walkway through the dunes, all make for a perfect beach adventure! The water is the clearest in this area: watch the fish shimmer in the sun as you take a swim. You can even get married at this park with the lighthouse in the background!

2. Ponce Preserve

You don’t need extreme survival skills to hike this trail. However, the views and peacefulness at Ponce Preserve are well worth any trek. You can walk through a shaded path to a lookout tower with a beautiful ocean view. Continue a little further to a beach access point. Walk in the opposite direction and you can journey down the boardwalk to the Intracoastal river. At its heart is the Green Mound State Archaeological Site, an ancient Indian midden. At the base of the Green Mound is a live oak estimated to be more than 350 years old. It’s the perfect spot to reconnect with your significant other and enjoy the beauty of nature. If you are staying in the area for your honeymoon, why not share a romantic moment and watch the sun rise together.

3. Marine Science Center

A fun spot for animal lovers, kids and grown ups alike! The Marine Science Center is an awesome place to visit for an hour or two. You can pet sting rays (don’t worry, they’re harmless), observe gorgeous tropical fish tanks, learn about the turtle rehabilitation and view sea turtles, visit the aviary, and more! And there’s a fun gift shop with perfect souvenirs to remember your Florida Beach Wedding by!

4. Ponce Inlet Lighthouse

Tie your sneakers and get ready for some spectacular views! Climb 203 steps to the top of the 175 foot tall lighthouse. The views of the ocean, beach, and surrounding cities of New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach is breathtaking! Trekking to the top is well worth the effort — and when you come back down explore in the on-site museum and light station. The Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station is one of only 11 lighthouses on the National Historic Landmark list.

5. Off the Hook

Looking for a place to get some delicious fresh seafood (or a burger for you non-seafood lovers out there)?  Off the Hook offers delicious food and an atmosphere that matches the Florida vibe. Picture yourself: sitting on the water, sunset watchin’, cold drink in hand, and maybe even a dolphin show in the river if you’re lucky! Sounds like a date!

So what complete beach wedding packages work best with a Ponce Inlet seaside wedding? Our staff recommends these ocean themed decorations:

The Beach Bliss Distinctive Design with navy and gold decor is perfect with the sky, the sand and the sea. Hanging starfish lanterns, flowers, nautical rope and a large decorated “chalkboard” sign announcing the new couple is stunning, along with a chilled water station for your guests. You can even change the materials colors if you like.

Another favorite is the Teal Distinctive Design. Nothing says “ocean” like vibrant teal flowers, greenery and bamboo. White resin chairs and chalkboard sign announce your marriage, along with the convenient addition of chilled water for your wedding guests.
