Escape And Elope To A Florida Beach

Now that many of us are staying (and many working) at home to slow the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, engaged couples including those who were only weeks away from tying the knot, have had to abruptly postpone or rethink their plans for their special day. This is frustrating and, as the winter months approach, you and your fiancé may be yearning to escape from it all! We don’t blame you…and the good news is you CAN still have a wedding ceremony in a safe environment, and celebrate with family and friends, if you wish. You and your partner can celebrate safely at an outdoor wedding where there is air circulation and lots of space. Where? A Florida beach of course which is perfect just about any day of the year!

Why not choose one of our Gulf Beach wedding locations? This sweet couple embraces with the stunning Gulf water and sunset behind them on Clearwater Beach. The white sand and emerald sea never disappoints, especially for a romantic elopement ceremony with the two of you alone.

The couple below chose St. Augustine for their elopement ceremony. Even if it is just the two of you, the bride and groom can still dress in full wedding finery, as this couple did for their Florida Simply wedding ceremony. The wonderful thing about this package is that it is an all-inclusive wedding: photography, an officiant for your vows, decorations and legal filing of their Florida marriage license. No wedding planning by the couple necessary – they just obtained their marriage certificate and showed up at the beach!

Cocoa Beach is a very popular location and will be again once the cruise ships return to sailing. However, by itself Cocoa is still a beautiful beach with lots of Atlantic wave action and entertainment options for the just married couple. It’s also the closes beach to Orlando and part of the Space Coast.

With stunning decorations, a decorated aisle and guest chairs, it is a great choice for family and friends to witness your love. As you can see, a long or short wedding dress can be worn at a beach elopement…it’s up to you. Many couples choose an intimate dinner after their elopement ceremony, however if you have a larger wedding party, our staff of Beach Wedding Specialists can make recommendations for a reception venue close to your beach location.

Right now, most major health experts still recommend staying away from big crowds, so why not consider an elopement ceremony or very small wedding in Florida? You can still be following all the guidelines outdoors. In fact, it is forecasted that in 2021 outdoor weddings will be more common during the pandemic. We applaud this approach and have been helping couples do this for years. And just because couples have to scale back their wedding size  doesn’t mean their celebrations will be less special. Just look how pretty these weddings are and they are just so stress free!

Now, if you do decide to change your current wedding plans and elope, you will need to notify your guests of this change. Fortunately, the Knot website offers some email templates you can use for this purpose. The Knot goes on to say: Among 750 guests surveyed in The Knot 2020 Guest Study, 71% of guests prefer to receive health and safety measures before they RSVP. Within this set, 63% of respondents said they’d like PPE information; 60% expressed interest in the overall guest count.

Break Away To A Butler Beach Wedding

The Beach Location

Kaylee and Brandon said, “I do” in July at Butler Beach, just south of St. Augustine Beach, Florida. Butler Beach on Anastasia Island is only eight miles from St. Augustine’s historic district. Wide stretches of white sand beach makes it the perfect location for a beach wedding ceremony. Butler Beach offers free parking, restrooms, showers, barbecue grills, and picnic pavilions.

The Bride

The bride’s beautiful lace wedding dress included a train that trailed beautifully behind her in the sand. Her father walked beside her to give her away at the beach ceremony. Kaylee and Brandon chose to write their own personalized vows which were witnessed by 50 guests. Music on their custom playlist included, “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. Our wedding ceremony coordinator, Pam, officiated as they tied the knot under this black bamboo wedding arch.

The Ceremony

The couple had one groomsman and one bridesmaid, who looked splendid in her purple gown. They had a Unity Sand Ceremony to symbolize their new life together after marriage. This was was included in their Destiny package. The bride chose coral (tropical delight) and blue as well as beautiful tiki torches to highlight the black bamboo of this wedding package design (natural bamboo is available too). Purple chair bands adorned the white guest chairs. The tiki poles were connected with strands of small white seashells with small purple flowers on the strands. So pretty!

A Crystal Clearwater Beach Wedding Day

Andy and Julee tied the knot in October at this Beach wedding venue. This popular Gulf beach venue is located in Clearwater Beach near Tampa. The white sand is what everyone loves about the Clearwater Beach area! The Distinctive Design wedding package they chose is called the Starfish Distinctive Design because it has large white starfish cascading down the back of the large bamboo canopy and two large starfish in the front corners. Julee walked, with her boys, toward the matching bamboo pole aisle-way with starfish accents and greenery to meet Andy and say, “I do”.

The Bride

Ivory draping on the bamboo arch went with the bride’s simple, yet elegant, spaghetti strap wedding gown. They also had a large wooden chalkboard sign announcing their new marriage. Beautiful music played for their wedding ceremony procession; they chose to walk together down the sandy aisle to say their forever vows. Songs played included, “What a Wonderful World”. Our wedding officiant and ceremony coordinator, Tyler, gave the newly joined couple the spotlight under the bamboo arch at the end of the ceremony (photo below).

The Ceremony

With over 40 guests, this couple added the optional seashell blessing after the ceremony which was included in their package. They also took part in a Sand Ceremony with turquoise and white sand as their color choices. They got to keep the vase to remember their special day with their family. Julee’s attendant (a daughter) wore a one-shoulder, aqua blue bridesmaid dress which was so pretty…it was also the color choice for the sashes on the bride and groom’s white guest chairs.

You can see how soft and pretty the draping and starfish hanging down behind this couple is (pictured below). Their all inclusive beach wedding package choice made the whole day easy for them. The blue sky and water in the background are what dream weddings are made of. Julee and Andy will remember this day forever and we hope they will return to Clearwater Beach for future anniversaries!

Congratulations, Julee and Andy! Julee was kind enough to leave us a five star Google review: “Florida beach weddings did an excellent job for my wedding on October 3, 2020. They were flexible with working with a few small details I wanted changed and had everything set up just like I asked. Any future brides I would highly recommend using this company.”  Contact us today about your Florida wedding plans.

Kristi and Blake’s Fort Walton Beach Wedding

Kristi and Blake were lucky in love as they recited their vows in September at this Gulf beach wedding ceremony. The white, fluffy sand on Fort Walton Beach, Florida could be mistaken for snow but it was warm at this dream beach wedding venue! Their Nautical Knot wedding package is one of our most popular, and this couple chose the hot pink and white fabric to compliment the tropical flowers that topped their bamboo arch. They added colorful Tiki torches down the aisleway and coral bands for their white guest chairs. The groomsmen waited with the groom, and the bridesmaids walked down individually. They also had a ringbearer.

Kristi and Blake had a sand ceremony which included coral and white sand to symbolize the joining of their two hearts, lives and families. They get to keep the vase to remember their special day. This bride and groom chose their own officiant to tie the knot.

The music they added was a customized playlist of their most cherished songs for their special day: a mixture of guitar and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” by Starship. Even the cloudy day could not diminish their joy as they posed down by the Gulf beach water. What a perfect barefoot wedding picture!
